Tinkham (George H.) is born in Boston.

October 29, 1869

George Tinkham grows up at 74 Montgomery Street, graduates from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, and goes on to serve on the Boston Common Council (1898-99), Board of Aldermen (1903-04), and in the Massachusetts Senate (1910-1912). He is so well-known for his physical strength and physique that a plaster cast of his arms, shoulders, and back are displayed at the Columbia Exposition in Chicago in 1903. Tinkham serves in the U.S. Army in World War I, and in the U.S. House of Representatives (1916-42). He dies in Cramerton, North Carolina, on August 28, 1956, and is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.
